Derek Lewis is a Buffalo native Pianist and Composer now based in New York City, where he is establishing himself as a fresh, promising voice in improvised music. Derek has played with Buffalo staple bass player Sabu Adeyola (Ahmad Jamal), and led a monthly residency with his trio at the renowned Community Beerworks brewery before moving to New York to study at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music.
