Angela Grey is a Filipino-American, singer-songwriter based in New York City. The NYC native started her training as a classical singer at an early age and has since discovered her naturally soulful tone, which has been compared to the likes of Norah Jones, Duffy, and Billie Eilish. She began writing songs in high school whilst living in the Philippines and performed her original songs at various bars around Manila—at least those that would let the soft-spoken 14-year-old girl sing on their stage, accompanied by just her guitar.
Her lyricism has since flourished, strongly influenced by her favorite songwriters, The Beatles, and by their ability to translate universal human experiences into heart-felt songs that you can sing along to. Angela is currently working recording her Bedroom Pop with Gabe Valle and Tommy McCormick (The Beach Boys, DMX, The Wonder Years), owners of the Big & Tall Recording Studio, alongside up and coming music producer, Joseph Mullhaupt. She has also worked together with Billboard-topping and Grammy-nominated producer Joe Carrell on a suite of releases in 2021 and with 3x Grammy winner Eduardo de la Paz on a suite of releases slated for 2022.
After after a suite of releases in 2021, Angela is currently performing as a jazz singer across various music venues in New York City. Aside from performing the classic jazz standards, she adds a unique spin to her sets by doing jazz renditions of current pop songs.
